Who we are
MobileScout (“we”, “us”) operates mobilescout.co.za, a free service that helps South Africans find phone deals and network contracts. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
When you request a callback we collect your name, mobile number, optional email, your budget range, the type of deal you want, and (optionally) your preferred network. We also record which deal or page your request came from, and anonymous usage analytics.
Why we collect it
We use your details for one purpose: to have an agent call you back with phone and contract deals matched to your budget. We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
We only contact you after you tick the consent box on our form. We store a record of that consent — including the wording shown and the time — as required by POPIA. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
To fulfil your request we may share relevant details with the network or accredited agent providing the deal you are interested in. They may only use it to contact you about that deal.
How we protect it
Your information is stored securely with access restricted to authorised staff. We keep it only as long as needed to help you, after which it is deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or request that we delete it. Email us and we will action your request.
